Monday 3/31/2025: Sneak Peek at the Week
SAVE THE DATE: April 24, 2025 -- 7:30 PM -- Next Zoom Q & A
Good morning from Amtrak!
I’m heading to DC for a late birthday celebration getaway, but better late than never. The Moon is in Taurus today, traveling without interference in its mission to keep things as they are, or the Way They Are Supposed To Be — whatever builds and maintains material comfort and security.
As I’m speeding down the Northeast Corridor, I’m really feeling the rush of easy-flowing energy, available for use by anyone in the driver’s seat (to clarify, I’m feeling the speed, which is causing my laptop to shake, which makes me feel as if I’m typing on a rollercoaster). But when I say that this energetic flow is available for anyone in the driver’s seat, I’m suggesting that astrology has no moral compass. And with no exact aspects among the planets (except for those involving the Moon) between last Saturday’s wiggy Mercury-Neptune conjunction at end of the world Pisces and this Friday’s pile-up of three planets in a Minor Grand Trine, astrology suggests a week of seamless action -- and possibly sweeping change, in the way that an ice shelf suddenly collapses into the sea. The tension builds and builds underneath the surface…and…just like that, it's a whole new landscape. [UPDATE: I added the word “possibly” just before shipping this forecast, thinking I might upset Avid Readers. In hindsight, I wish I hadn’t because, this is, in fact, a week of sweeping change — and it’s only Wednesday].
April is off to a dynamic start, with more to come as the month progresses.
Highlights this week:
Saturn sextiles Uranus on Friday
Mars sextiles Uranus on Friday
Mars trines Saturn on Friday
First Quarter Moon on Friday
Sun sextiles Jupiter on Sunday
Mars trines Venus on Sunday
It goes like this:
MONDAY: Moon in Taurus, as I said — seeking material comfort and stability, possibly within an empire. A Taurus Moon is a fine time for building structures — and also for indulging in sensual delights, e.g., good food, fine wine, sweet music, and a snuggle with your sweetie. Moon makes no contact with any other planet today, so the drive for tangible structure may build and build and build....
TUESDAY:...aided and abetted by cooperative connections to Mars (action, assertion) and Saturn (karma, cuts, losses, authoritative advances) at 6:14 AM ET and 7:32 AM ET. All that drive may be disruptive or disrupted as Moon meets up with rebel Uranus at 7:55 AM ET. There will be plenty to talk about, as Moon next connects easily with Venus and Mercury at 11:54 AM ET and 1:42 PM ET, but is it for real? Venus and Mercury are still retrograde -- and now in Pisces -- upping the odds of information that may have been disseminated sloppily (a la Signalgate), and based on feelings, not facts. The Taurus Moon will be void between 1:42 PM ET and 4:25 PM ET; take a step back from the flood of whatever it is (Moon is receiving input from planets in Water Signs Cancer and Pisces) and avoid making a mountain out of a molehill. Chill -- or stick to routine concerns and use the retrograde perspective as I did during Sunday's 11-hour Moon void: reorganize, rearrange, review, revise, and release things that no longer serve.
TUESDAY (cont): At 4:25 PM ET, Moon enters Gemini, now focused on being the smartest, most informed and entertaining kid in the room -- but perhaps still in a bit of dreamy or delusional spell as it connects with Neptune at 4:34 PM ET, with added depth or pure power around 10:16 PM ET, as Moon trines Pluto. And now, the Gemini Moon travels without interference, gathering facts and figures into an ever-growing snowball until 2:20 PM ET on...
WEDNESDAY: ...when the crusading, nothing is impossible Aries Sun strives to bring it all into balance with a sextile. But nooooo.... bigger and airier is deemed to be better, courtesy of Moon's next stop: a meet-up with optimistic (and occasionally bombastic) Jupiter at 7:25 PM ET. Whatever the big news, Moon moves on at 9:52 AM ET on...
THURSDAY:...to a square to Saturn. Based on what we've experienced so far this year, we can expect something heavy to hit the headlines, e.g., a block, cut, or ambitious advance. You are more personally affected by this if you have planets around 24 degrees of Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, and Sagittarius....and off the top of my head, Kamala Harris has a 24 Gemini Ascendant. Next up: the Gemini Moon's need to be clever and entertaining is challenged by the sentiments of Venus in Pisces at 12:36 PM ET, with more adjustments required when Moon squares Mercury (how we need to think and communicate), also in boundless Pisces, at 2:26 PM ET. Chill during the ensuing four-and-a-half-hour Moon void. Moon regains it focus when it enters Cancer at 6:49 PM ET, now seeking to establish home, homeland, family, and emotional security. In your own personal world, staying close to home and enjoying creature comforts -- whatever gives you nourishment. Moon travels without interference on its "home front" mission for over 24 hours, until 10:14 PM ET on...
FRIDAY: when the First Quarter Cancer Moon's need for security challenges the me-me-me boldly go where no one has gone before, fiery Aries Sun, demanding adjustment to whatever me-me-me-first seeds were planted on last week's New Moon in Aries (which I will talk about in a future forecast). Aaaaaannndddd....before that Friday night adjustment, we will likely have been witness to a flood of action intended to 1) reinvent the wheel; 2) be executed with militant "turf wars" mentality; and 3) may incorporate technology, its networks, or coalitions of unconventional allies united for one common cause. I'm referring to the three planets that have been travelling for most of 2025 in a pattern known as a Minor Grand Trine. Mars and Saturn are trine; and both are sextile Uranus, which at the midpoint of the other two.
FRIDAY: The Saturn-Uranus sextile is a rare pattern, and I talked in-depth about it during last week's Zoom Q & A. Saturn represents the old guard; Uranus represents the avant-garde, and together they well-suited to reinvent the wheel, for better or worse. The last time we had this pattern was in 1996-1997, during the Clinton Administration. Guess what one of their initiatives was, led by VP Al Gore? "Reinventing Government." And boy, did they ever, as we all learned a couple of weeks ago (in a Doonesbury strip I shared) -- but "no one noticed," because it was intelligently planned. The "turf wars" pattern refers to Mars in home front Cancer, trine Saturn, setting lean, mean boundaries in matters of empathy and other Pisces-rules matters (because Saturn is in Pisces). The third pattern is Mars sextile Uranus, which combines warrior energy with innovation, networks and/or technology, and so we're talking about drones and other flying objects, etc.
FRIDAY: After the demands of the First Quarter Moon erupt, the Cancer Moon travels again without impediment until 3:20 PM ET on...
SATURDAY: when it connects with the three planets in the Minor Grand Trine: sextiling Uranus, then trining Saturn at 3:28 PM ET, and then a provocative meet-up with Mars at 3:49 PM ET. But wait, there's more: Moon trines (harmonizes) with Venus and Mercury at 4:35 PM ET and 6:54 PM ET, delivering a message designed to elicit empathy, no matter who's doing the talking. This is April 5th, when hundreds of thousands of people will be marching in protest of the controlled demolition of our government by a vindictive would-be emperor, aided and abetted by an unelected billionaire (and others of his ilk), whose ultimate goal is probably perfectly presented here by the brilliant comedienne Sarah Cooper in "The History of Wealth Throughout History," which aptly reflects the extremes of wealth and power suggested by three passes of Pluto to the Jupiter-Saturn Great Conjunction of 2020.
SATURDAY: Chill during the nearly six-hour Moon void at 6:54 PM ET. At 12:34 AM ET on...
SUNDAY:...Moon enters regal Leo, seeking a stage upon which to shine, shine, shine....in a quest for love, love, love. Pro tip: help others shine by paying someone a compliment. Give to others what you hope to receive for yourself. Is called "The Golden Rule" because gold is the color of Leo and its ruler, the Sun? When behaving badly, a Leo Moon can be exhausting for others subjected to the demands of tantrum-throwing toddlers. The pro tip option should be easier for most, given that we have a rare harmony between the Sun and Jupiter (a sextile), suggesting at least some measure of generosity. A modest jackpot, perhaps, in the news? Initially, this Leo Moon's need is infused with the vision (or delusions) of Neptune, now in fiery, me-me-me Aries, as the two connect harmoniously (by trine) at 1:01 AM ET. Power plays and catharses, especially in matters of yin and yang arrive around daybreak, as Moon opposes Pluto at 7:18 AM ET. The yin and yang element is the second in a series of three trines between Mars and Venus, exact at 8:13 AM ET. Caveat: attractions acted upon when Venus is retrograde have a higher "coyote date" potential, as our sense of aesthetics (who, what, and how we need to love) may be in flux...and thus may shift once Venus completes its retrograde dance. This may be especially true of this Venus retrograde, because when Mars and Venus harmonize again next month, Mars will be in Leo and Venus will be in Aries. Fire will be all the rage, pun obviously intended; spare me your Water-y tears. On the other hand, one benefit of all these planets in Water signs is that Water signs make fertile ground...and perhaps this focus, combined with the potential for abundance suggested by the Sun-Jupiter sextile, is what Beth Owl's Daughter's always-in-sync Tarot Card of the Week is getting at.
SUNDAY (cont.): Humming in background over the past several days are two patterns exact on Monday and Tuesday. The first pattern involves Venus, which meet up with chilly Saturn on Monday morning and then sextiles Uranus just after midnight ET on Tuesday. In other words, Venus is following the path traced by Mars on Friday. Expect news involving women who mean business -- or who are being brutally controlled; budget austerity and other stories of loss involving money, the arts, and social expression. Some relief from unconventional allies -- or just news of those who dare to be different will likely reflect the Venus-Uranus pattern.
SUNDAY (cont.): Meanwhile, Mercury will be stationary on Sunday, i.e., slowing to a virtual standstill from our perspective on Spaceship Earth. It turns direct at 7:01 AM ET on MONDAY...so...take it slow that day with respect to travel, schedules, gizmos, and communication snafus.
Whew!
Since I'm technically on Mercury Rx vacation today (and really want to see the pandas at the National Zoo), for now I'll refrain from sharing thoughts on Neptune in Aries and last week's New Moon in Aries, which was also an eclipse. But if you're curious about what can happen in the real life of a horoscope that affected by a series of eclipses, I did give patron subscribers this guineapig to watch: Viktor Orban. What's happening in his life in recent weeks, hmm? Here's a column about his horoscope -- published in Mountain Astrologer a few years ago.
And now, the news.
I think SNL captured most of the hot topics in Weekend Update.
Here's their take on Signalgate -- which, as anyone could have anticipated -- was the cold open.
UPDATE: Last week I noted that right before Uranus entered Aries in March 2011, there was a massive earthquake and tsunami, which caused a meltdown and leak at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. I thought we might see similar themes in the news as Neptune approached 0 Aries. There was a 7.7 earthquake in Myanmar -- with the death toll now over 2000. Humanitarian aid is severely compromised, thanks to the illegal destruction of USAID and other US agencies, aided and abetted by an unelected billionaire. Meanwhile, "What's behind the push to revive nuclear power?" asks this trade publication.
I also told you I was watching for news in certain countries that I did not identify, but now I can share that one of them was Italy, which is more sensitive to Neptune's ingress into Aries than other countries. Why? Because it became a sovereign state on March 17, 1861, when Neptune was at 29 degrees of Pisces, conjunct Sun and Mercury. We might expect Italy, as a sovereign state, might be having a bit of an identity crisis -- and note that its 26 Pisces Sun was eclipsed last fall and hit again by the March 14 lunar eclipse, which was triggered by Saturn on March 27. Also note that Neptune transits refer to wipe outs, disappearances, vanishing, etc. as we've seen in the news all year.
On Friday, March 28, a directive was issued regarding who may be recognized as an Italian citizen. Until Friday, if you could prove that you were descended from an Italian-born person who had never renounced their citizenship, you could be recognized as a citizen of Italy. The directive wipes that out -- by limiting the scope of your ancestry, i.e. "tenuous claims of descent." Before the directive was issued, your Italian-born descendant could have been a great-grandparent, or even a great-great grandparent. Now your claim is limited to whether a grandparent was born in Italy -- and never renounced their citizenship.
Note that the initial legal take is that this directive violates the Italian Constitution in many ways, similar to how one of the convicted felon's executive orders is attempting to abolish birthright citizenship, which is expressly granted by the U.S. Constitution. Avid Readers may recall that transiting Neptune is at the root of the U.S. horoscope now, attempting to dissolve the foundation of our homeland. Point is, Italy and the U.S. are both experiencing significant transits of Neptune, and Neptune is hot hot hot in its own right, as it wobbles back and forth between borderless, empathetic Pisces, and whole new world Aries.
It remains to be seen whether the convicted felon's executive order and/or the Italian decree will prevail, but as Saturn and Neptune commit to me-me-me Aries, the rule of law and due process is less favored than "Because I said so, not now, but RIGHT NOW."
Oh...and...
"Another wipeout wallops Wall Street," was Heather Cox Richardson's opening line in her Letter summarizing the events of March 28th.
Astrology is amazing.
I'm off to visit the pandas before they and the rest of the Zoo are wiped out because they've been deemed too woke.
